Health and Safety - ER’s Highest Priority

Protecting the health and safety of our people in the workplace is our highest priority at ER. ER is committed to the highest levels of achievement in health and safety on our projects. One of our primary goals for the successful completion of every project is the completion of the work in a safe manner and without incident. We consider an incident to be a near miss or an accident that results in personal injury, illness, or loss of property. We believe that the elimination of incidents, regardless of whether or not injuries are involved, is vital to the efficient execution of all of our projects. When we devote essential time and energy to safety, we save time and money, but most importantly, we preserve the wellbeing of our employees.

National Safety CouncilAs a National Safety Council member, ER is committed to providing every employee a safe and healthful workplace. We have an exceptional health and safety program evident throughout all levels of our organization. Everything practical will be done to help employees work in a safe and productive manner. Our expectation for every ER project is zero incidents. Each ER, and subcontractor, employee is expected to work towards accomplishing all tasks safely, correctly, by procedure, and without incident. We also empower our employees with “Stop Work Authority” for any activity they feel might pose an imminent danger. Each employee assigned to an ER project are expected to abide by the rules and regulations outlined in the Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and all local, state, and Federal laws.

Training and Preparation

Training, hazard recognition and the establishment safe work practices is an integral part of ER's safety culture. Our primary objective is to eliminate risk of injury or illness for all employees. To facilitate this objective, we conduct hands-on training, classroom and field, in accordance with, but not limited to, OSHA, NFPA, and DOT regulations. We have the unique capability to provide in-house training and certifications when staffing up for large scale incidents, such as natural disasters or oil spills. This gives ER the advantage to provide fully trained and competent personnel for every project with personnel demands of any size.

Outstanding Safety Performancel

Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.69 is an excellent indicator of ER's overall commitment to safety and quality of work. Further demonstration of our success is our 2016 TRIR of 1.10 which is almost half of the latest (2015) BLS industry average of 2.0.

The common sense, safe approach is usually the best way to complete the job. Everyone focused on the goal of working with safety foremost in their mind can result in a safe, successful project.
